I was just la-de-da-ing and de-stressin to Gotye feat. Kimbra today. I have never heard of Kimbra Johnson before so I listened to some more. She will now be my obsession of the week. From her godly blessed vocals with all her bells and whistles she is so very put together in her own way. She's even bustin her own moves. I've never seen anyone quite twist and tork like that.. It's like a very cool nonchalant version of the Elaine groove.
Her hair is scrumptious in this video! I've been thinking about chopping off my locks this summer to be short and this is such a sweet looking style idea for short hair.

Bonjour mes amis! Today I have pleasure of introducing you to the first issue of Lone Wolf.

I bought my own copy today; through and through it is absolutely Gorgeous! I truly recommend it if your a girly girl, fashionista, fashion photographer, dreamer, or fairy tale lover. It is the first magazine I've gone through in a long time where I was loving every page. It's style is refreshing, light and airy. It is not filled with nonsense and distaste like a lot of other Fashion compilations. There is an extra surprise for the ladies and men who love men at the end, with a little rep of the OH Canada. Amazing work from the editors, stylists, and photographers. Lone Wolf is definitely a great addition to the Canadian Fashion Industry(which has been over run by an excessive amount of commercial brands out of Canada).

Recognize and support your talented local labels.

Anyways... Lone Wolf, I will definitely be buying more issues. ;)

I've been loving this style of shoe lately. It's a flat that can tie you over all year round.

Some brands call them slippers, some call them loafers. I think their both ... Sloapers, lol.

They are so chic, funky, vintage, and edgy all at the same time! They are casual but dressy enough to replace those platform high heels that look amazing but are asking for you to break your ankle. I hope my favourite's inspire you to buy a pair for our upcoming seasons.

I have quite a lot of joy when wearing animal prints. My last pair of leopard flats ended up looking like a wet cat after a long day of city walking in NYC in pouring rain. Before boarding at JFK I decided to toss them.
My criteria for flats:
Comfort is a must because these are the go tos! These will be your shoes when your traveling, shopping, working, errands runs, groceries, running after your dog haha(point made) Finding a pair that I like are hard to come by. Perfection is hard to achieve with picky style, so when their good enough I get them.

This weekend I attended the Jay-Z and Kanye West concert tour for Watch the Throne. AMAZING!

Hip-hop and rap has definitely housed some serious fashion icons since it was born. Including HOVA and Yeezy who I've been really inspired by over the past couple of years.

This album and tour itself is pretty cool - Luxurious animal kingdom, gold clashing with some angry dogs, cheetahs and hawks. I loved it! The album art well let's just say that shit cray.

I loved what they both wore at the concert, mostly Kanye. It was really unexpected to see him in a leather kilt, leather leggings, an oversize Tee with his fierce face on it. Jay-Z was his classic self but his chains were extra polished that night. They get extra cheers from me when they rap about Louis Vuitton and shopping sprees in the couture department. Put your diamonds in the sky and praise the rap gods.

I ended the night with a half animal half Jay-Z t-shirt, I absolutely love it.

As a person who is heavily moved by appealing visuals and everything that influences trends. Lost at E Minor always gives me my daily dose.

This is definitely a re-post. Yesterday I was looking through my daily newsletter from them and fell in love with the work of Nikoline Liv Andersen. With all the respect I have for all arts, I can't help but fall in love with Fashion Art. Maybe because it's having that feeling of expression on your body? It usually never has that same feeling to you as it does to the artist, but it gives you a feeling.

As ridiculous as I would feel with a monkey on my head.. such quality work that looks amazing, gives me amazing emotion.

Poncho and Pencils

When there's a sunny day in Seattle- you take advantage of it. Today I chose to hang out on the balcony and do some sketchin. My mom had this poncho when I was younger. I snagged it and took it with me all through school and now to my new home. If you don't own one, I really do suggest getting one. It's the best! It's like a bathrobe but one you can wear in public. I'm also sportin some Sam Edelman boots. My new hiking shoes... Bahah. I would too! I won't even show you a pic of my Modern Vintage boots that I totally destroyed while hiking (for the record they were definitely not as high as these, I'm not that impractical).

And yes, when I stay home I prefer to wear 6 " heels then make-up.

Lady Gaga goes back to her NY roots with Vanity Fair in their January issue. She also exposes herself a little more than usual; with nudes and also some deeper details about her love life. It was an interesting way that they used the city in the shoot. That red dress (Valentino Haute Couture) is so very stunning.

I did a little treasure hunting today and was blessed with some lovely additions.
The necklace is a monster mess with those tangled tassels! I thought about grooming them a bit so their smooth and tamed. I decided they have much more character just the way they are!

I'm back!

This week I participated in the Crystal Light Designer Purse Challenge. I was one of the top 8 contestants. I designed a bag with fun bright summer colours inspired by the Crystal Light flavour, Tangerine Grapefruit.

The turnout was colour blocked, some fun gold studs, and a touch of tribal.

It's a tote turned to a nice big day bag to an evening clutch. There is a zipper around the bottom that extends the bag for more room. Within the extension holds another zipper with a pocket for your water bottle! If you like - fold it over to be a hot slouchy summer clutch.

Get this! I made it out of stingray leather, which holds strong and has beautiful texture.

A Couture Cut

I feel that the majority of people including me, take inspiring fashion for granted. Few people relize that there is more than just the talented designer behind those adorned gowns and tailored duos. To me- all successful collections MUST meet the criteria of cut and fit. Without it, you can not appreciate the feeling it was meant to portray. Next time you see something that really catches your eye and gives you the feeling of aspiration, I hope that you hold a little more appreciation for how it came to be.

PS. I love how he refers to the garments as 'volume' ... the use of that word identifies it more as art than clothing.

Frumpy Affair.

This weekend I had a date with the city. It involved lots of walking. So there ain't nothin fancy about my outfit. But there were things that I loved about it so I thought I'd share. This is my new throw-on-let's-go dress - haha - I gots me some silver; my wood bangles are some of my fav accessories I own; my new shadesI got that day from the garage sale down the street; my black sweater from high school that is too small for me but I don't want to get rid of; and my Converse.

I realized that day the different ways people wear their Converse. Here are the different types of Converse owners

Urban Clean - People who wear them without 1 spec of dirt. These people tend to tread lightly.

Dirty Dodgers - People who purposely dirty their converse because they can't stand white or something to look brand new. They prefer a distressed and an older look. I've been told - ' The dirtier, the better'. These people tend to tread recklessly.

Nonchalant Nancy's - People who do not pay too much attention to how dirty their Converse are becoming. These people tend to tread carelessly. For these type of Converse owners I would say - The dirtier the converse, the more fun they've had!

The strange object at the top is actually some beach METAL! that I found. I thought it would make such a cool accessory :)

I just added in that picture of beach glass because it looked similar to this piece of beach glass I found. Also it appears it's beach glass from the bottom of a bottle that had a 'B' on it! Which I think I might spend the rest of my life searching for. I love :)

What an extroidinary man. Hands-down the luckiest man in the fashion industry to ever live. Starting in the 50's with Dior's New Look until today! Bill Cunningham is Legend.

It started off with the deep greens and lavenders. I was browsing through my inspirational photos and thought the combination of something natural mixed with geometric, strange, and unique shapes would make for something different? A little bit of a tribal flavour to it I suppose. I think I would like to call it 'Natural Insticts'.

My 5 Favs of Toronto Fashion Week

Hello! Yes I relize this is a long overdue review. I've been m.i.a in the past few days. but! I'm here to tell you my favs on last weeks Toronto Fashion week.

1. Diepo
Deep into the woods of Diepo there is a lovely casual sportswear collection. haha. My favourite part about the show was how creative it was. A truely canadian inspiration - woods, camping, outdoors! Whether it's thier tailored pieces or knits, these girls know how to make perfect fit. They cleared the plain runway and threw down some stumps. Loved it.

2. The opening scene for Linda Lundstrom. So powerful.

3. This show I did not make it out to but I liked the texture that Heather Lawton brought to the table. Black at a show gets to a be a little bit repetitive after a while. But we all wear black soooo...why not.

5. Last but not least, I really enjoyed Klaxton Howl.... for specific reasonss.. but this is one of my favourite jackets of the collection. I also liked the fact they has some classic Hudson Bay accessories.

A nice casual collection was presented by JUMA yesterday. I got very cultured feeling that was totally modernized in cut. I also loved the model selection, the multiculturalism was well liked I'm sure not only by me but Canadians alike. Well done.

-I very much want those pants on the left...
-Black dress has such a great modern cut
-Prints are great, subtle and emotional.

I am not the biggest fan of LG Toronto Fashion Week, but non-the-less I am a huge supporter of Toronto Fashion and feel our Potents and Potentials should be placed on a lovely silver platter.
